Pastor Mike Kooy was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended the Christian Reformed Church (CRC) for the first 27 years of his life. He met his wife Susan through working together in the youth ministry program in the CRC. During his time volunteering as a youth group leader/mentor, he began to feel a call into Pastoral ministry. To pursue this call, he continued his college education at Kyper College in Grand Rapids. After completing his bachelor’s degree in 2000, he attended Westminster Seminary in California where he got his Masters of Divinity degree (class of 2004). From there he was called to pastor a PCA congregation in Lancaster, New Hampshire—Faith Presbyterian Church—where he pastored for 10 years (2005-2015). In 2016, Pastor Mike was called to Providence OPC in Manistee, Michigan, where he is currently serving.

Pastor Mike has three children. He owned and operated a lawn care business from 1988-1999. He’s a life long Detroit Lions fan, is a sports card collector and YouTube sports card creator along with his son.
